Setting Up Your E-mail in Microsoft Outlook 2007

This tutorial shows you how to set up Microsoft Outlook to work with your e-mail account. This tutorial focuses on setting up Microsoft Outlook 2007, but these settings are similar in other versions of Microsoft Outlook. You can set up previous versions of Microsoft Outlook by using the settings in this tutorial.

Step One

In Microsoft Outlook click on the Tools Menu Button Tools Menu

 

Step Two

On the tools menu select "Account Settings..."

A window like the following should appear:

Step Three

On the "Account Settings" window, click on the "New..." button New eMail Button
On the "Choose E-mail Service" window:

Step Four

Ensure that the "Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP" radio button is selected

Click on Next Button

Step Five

On the "Auto Account Setup" screen
Fill out the Your Name: field with your name
Fill out the Email Address: field with your email address
Click on the Manually configure server settings or additional server types Check-Box
 Click on Next Button
 

Step Six

Ensure that the "Internet E-mail" radio button is selected

Choose E-Mail Service

Click on Next Button

Step Seven

On the "Add New E-mail Account" window
fill out the Incoming Mail Server: with either mail.yourdomain.tld, where youdomain.tld will be the domain name we host for you and the .tld will either be .com, .net, or .org
the Outgoing Mail Server: will be the same as the "Incoming mail server:"
In the E-mail Address: section your "User Name:" will be the same as your " -mail Address:"
 your Password: will be the one you chose when the E-mail Address was setup by the yourwebpress.com customer service department
If you do not want to enter your password in each time, check the Remember password check-box
And leave the Secure Password Authentication check box check-box unchecked

Step Eight

 
Select the More Settings... button button
In the "Internet E-mail Settings" window:

Step Nine

Select the Outgoing Server Tab tab
In the "Outgoing Server" tab

ensure that Use Same Settings Radio Button is selected
Click on the OK Button button and then try to send a test message by:
selecting the Test Account Settings... Button button
and the following window should appear

    HELP! My test email failed

    If your Test E-Mail fails during the send the mail message may have been blocked. It has been our experience that recently some internet service providers (ISPs) block access to some mail servers, and this may be the case. You may be able to gain access to our servers by changing your "port" numbers, to do this:
    Select the More Settings... button button
    In the "Internet E-mail Settings" window:

    select the "Advanced Tab" tab
    Change the Incoming server(POP3) from 110 to 7110:
    Change the Outgoing Server(SMTP) from 25 to 777:
    Click on OK Button
    Click on Next Button
    On the "Congratulations!" Screen



    Congratulations! you are finished

    Click on Next Button
